Check a Hedera NFT before you buy

Find the token ID on the collection or NFT page. Compare it with the ID linked by the creator's established website or official channels.

A collection called the same thing with a different token ID is a different collection. A matching name, familiar image or social reply is not a substitute for this check.

The serial identifies one NFT inside the collection. Read it again before approving the purchase, particularly when several copies share an image or title.

Save the pair together. Token ID 0.0.1234567, serial 1, is an illustrative example of the format. The serial alone is not enough to identify an NFT across Hedera.

Check the owner shown on the NFT page and its recorded activity. A network explorer or mirror-node lookup can provide another view of ledger data. Use mainnet for a mainnet NFT.

Transfers are not automatically sales. An NFT can move between accounts without a market purchase, so do not treat every recorded transfer as a price comparison.

Check the artwork, description and traits. If the collection promises access or other benefits, find the terms that describe them. The token identifier confirms which asset you are looking at; it does not confirm every promise made about it.

If an image is missing, inspect the metadata address before concluding that the NFT itself is gone. The metadata guide explains the separate pieces.

Read the price, payment token and NFT in the request presented by SentX and your wallet. After a successful purchase, verify that the same token ID and serial appear in My NFTs.

Check that both use the same network and identifiers. One view may be behind the latest ledger result, or a media service may be unavailable. Keep the original transaction ID and investigate it before submitting another purchase.
